Full of fresh inspiration after attending “Design for the Future’, held in Melbourne last month, I am reminded of the importance that constant professional development plays in the area of design. The aim is to ignite the imagination with tutorials from the world’s most creative designers, and this year certainly lived up to expectations- I thought I would share a few of my favourites with you, and a little insight into people that inspire the work I do ……..
One of the speakers who struck particular interest for me was Raymond Jungles, a specialist in tropical and subtropical gardens, from Miami. With a mentor such as Roberto Burle Marx, Jungles was destined for great things. Living in a subtropical region, I find a deep affinity with his work and again am so happy to share this incredible designer with you all

The field of guest speakers was simply incredible, with Chilean Landscape Architect, Juan Grimm returning for his second visit to the conference. Again he brought beautiful simplicity with his innate love of nature. His gardens are “never showy but rely on a mosaic of often fine leaved greens that melds with local flora…”. For some truly inspiring garden and landscape design have a peep at Juan Grimm.

Paul Bangay is one of Australia’s leading designers and is known for his formal gardens, often influenced by Italian, Spanish and French design. He is the author of numerous books, the latest being about his journey creating ‘Stonefields’, his magnificent home and garden in Victoria. Paul Bangay is one brilliant designer I would love to share with you all.
