My search for new and exciting products to use in my garden designs, has recently led to a trip to Vietnam. It proved to be a destination that impressed me far more than I ever expected.
We settled into the landmark Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, built in 1927 during France’s colonial rule of Vietnam, and for all its interior splendour, I was most taken with the large internal courtyard.
Lush ‘ Green Walls’, four storeys high enclose a perfectly proportioned and very elegant breakfast garden. A welcome oasis in a hectic city.
The Vietnamese also seem to be masters at topiary, beautifully clipped specimens grace public spaces abundantly.
