Jetty House Accommodation

Situated beneath a dramatic sandstone escarpment, this property has expansive views across tranquil paddocks, creating a serene setting where natural beauty meets thoughtful design. Spanning a large area, the garden required careful consideration of scale and containment, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with its surroundings while providing sheltered, inviting spaces.

The garden’s formal layout includes a spacious entry garden, an oversized timber pergola walkway, and a striking limestone water feature at its heart. As the trees mature, the sound of gently flowing water will create a soothing backdrop, making this an ideal spot for relaxation in the shade. The blend of formal and informal planting seamlessly connects with the landscape, establishing a sense of continuity between the garden and its broader environment.

Planning for the future was central to the design, with trees selected to grow into stately specimens over the next 20 to 50 years, providing scale, shade, and a sense of permanence. Carefully chosen they include native evergreens and deciduous trees like Waterhousea, Olive, Ornamental Pear, Birch, and Tupelo, to complement the natural colours and textures of the land while ensuring longevity.

Soft grasses sway gently between the pool area and the escarpment, adding movement and texture to the space.

The driveway, lined with elegant Weeping Paperbark trees, leads past a horse arena before reaching the parking area near the entry garden. Strong, symmetrical lines guide visitors to the front door, enhancing the sense of arrival. A main path, flanked by white-flowering Crepe Myrtle trees, directs the way, with hardy plants such as Roses, prostrate Rosemary, ornamental grasses, and perennials enriching the planting scheme.

This timeless garden design embraces the land’s beauty and the family’s needs, creating a peaceful, enduring space that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
