Jetty House Accommodation

Upon our initial encounter with this project, we found ourselves studying the architect’s house plans while gazing upon a sprawling, vacant paddock sitting within a breathtaking landscape. A primary consideration for our clients was to incorporate a sizable pool and ample flat lawn space, providing an ideal playground for their children and dogs.

The placement of the pool posed our first significant challenge. Despite the apparent flatness of the paddock, the introduction of a 20-meter pool highlighted subtle changes in elevation, necessitating careful planning to ensure seamless integration with the surrounding garden. Our solution involved the creation of a two-tier retaining wall system, complemented by lush plantings to cascade gracefully and soften the walls, ensuring unimpeded access throughout the garden.

Recognizing the essential role of shade in any outdoor space, we embarked on a deliberate tree-planting strategy. While trees demand time to grow, they represent a wise investment in the future of any garden. Along the driveway, elegant white Crepe Myrtles and weeping Waterhouseas now stand sentinel, not only enhancing the visual appeal but also mitigating the potential heat emanating from the expansive driveway.

Hidden Valley is not merely a garden; it is an ongoing journey. As time unfolds, this landscape will continue to evolve and mature, gradually transforming into a distinguished estate garden.
